DESCRIPTION

Waits for a child process and optionally reaps it.

SYNOPSIS

long waitpid(int pid, int *status, uint32_t options);

RETURN VALUE

• Returns a non-negative result on success. Negative values are ABI errno codes.

ERRORS

• -EFAULT
  • The status pointer is not writable userspace memory.
• -ECHILD
  • The caller has no matching child.
• -EINVAL
  • The PID or option mask is invalid.
• -ESRCH
  • There is no current process or thread.

ABI

Arguments enter through the direct syscall ABI; validation is performed before entering the process subsystem.
