DESCRIPTION

Creates a new session for the caller.

SYNOPSIS

long setsid(void);

RETURN VALUE

• Returns a non-negative result on success. Negative values are ABI errno codes.

ERRORS

• -EPERM
  • The caller is already a process-group leader.
• -ESRCH
  • There is no current process.

ABI

Arguments enter through the direct syscall ABI; validation is performed before entering the process subsystem.
